BZRK

BZRK (pronounced "berserk") is nothing short of terrifying, disturbing, and at times disgusting. It is also one of the most fantastic stories I have ever read.

The book launches you head first into a battle for control of the world, yet a battle that's so small we're oblivious to it. The battle takes place in the nano or "down in he meat" as a BZRKer would put it. Its the battle between biots and nanobots, living things no bigger than the average dust mote. The main story follows Noah and Sadie, two teens thrust into the nano world without understanding exactly what they are getting into.

I loved the relationship between Noah and Sadie. They couldn't really be in love considering they never even get to know the other's first name. But they constantly need one another, just to bring themselves back to whats real. There's some realistic palpable emotion between these too, something I thought was fantastic.

The two are given their own biots and immediately thrust into the intense action of a nano war. the detail and care used in descriptions is astonishing and a little frightening. Grant creates a completely terrifying yet captivating world that exists on our own bodies. BZRK will cause you to question everything you see looking in a mirror every day.

Definitely not for the faint of heart although the book does have the strange ability to promise nightmares yet at the same time totally fascinating. Fans of the Gone series (quite like myself) will certainly not be disappointed. Actually it's quite reassuring knowing that when Gone finishes up (one more book :'o( ) we have another Phenomenal Michael Grant series to obsess over.
